Tung Tso Stone Inkstone Art Museum Exhibition 董坐石硯藝術館展覽
Tung Tso (董坐) comes from a family of inkstone makers and has been involved in making Luoxi stone (螺溪石) inkstones with his father, Tung Jen-shen (董壬申), since childhood. To improve his skills, he visited marble factories in Hualien, introduced and improved cutting machinery, and intensively studied inkstone carving techniques, breaking away from his father's traditional patterns. The connotation of his works evolves with the times, and his creations are diverse; from inkstone carving to flat carving, relief carving, and 3D carving, from plants and animals to realism and abstraction, all are within his mastery. Among them, the work "Hundred Dragons Inkstone" (百龍硯), created with 600 kilograms of Luoxi stone, took 23 months to complete this masterpiece.
