Exhibition Introduction |

In the life experience of planting and nurturing flowers, one gains aesthetic feelings and inspiration regarding the understanding of life. Ma Jing-zhi, who lived in the US for thirty years, began her artistic journey from her backyard interactions with plants. This exhibition gathers the brilliant flowers she has painted over many years to be shown in Yingge, the capital of ceramics—a surprise in the pursuit of a dream. The story originated years ago when she came to Taiwan from the US and accompanied her husband to Yingge to appreciate ceramics. In the second shop, one particular work triggered her unique respect for ceramic art ever since. Returning to Yingge this time, she feels honored to have the opportunity to exhibit at the Spot Art Center located on Ceramic Street.

"Yingge Ceramic Art & Brilliant Flowers" features paintings specifically selected to complement the ceramic capital of Yingge, using ceramic flower vessels as the main axis and adding brilliant flowers to demonstrate visual beauty and highlight Yingge's unique charm. Her early works leaned toward realism, gradually became more freehand, and finally evolved into the recent free forms—different in shape but identical in spirit. Along with life experience and increased knowledge, her perspectives on people and things have been brought into her creations, moving from complexity to simplicity. Her style varies in a thousand ways, and her techniques are infinitely diverse. From traditional ink, watercolor, pastels, and acrylics to watermarks, spray-dyed paper, and pastel combinations. The paintings present life experiences and her truest self. She hopes to make friends through her art!
