Yoshitomo Nara (奈良美智) Special Exhibition: Hazy Humid Day (朦朧潮濕的一天) Follows Me Back to Chiayi (回嘉)

At age 34, Yoshitomo Nara created a work of the same name, "Withered Flower" (凋謝的花). "I really like this painting; every time there's a retrospective-like exhibition, I try to borrow it for display, but the owner is always unwilling to lend it." Thus, many years later, he decided that like a remastered album in music, he would use his current self to paint it once more.
In 1994, even while harboring distress, Yoshitomo Nara completed the work in one go; by 2020, he chose to listen to those parts he hadn't noticed before, like missed beats and static, re-completing a painting with stronger structure and larger dimensions.
On display are 72 works, including large-scale paintings, photography, ceramics, and creations from his quarantine period in Tainan.
