Yuanlin Police Story House Exhibition (員林市警察故事館展覽)

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: (中華民國)彰化縣員林市公所
To drive local tourism development, the Yuanlin Town Office allocated funds to renovate the former police dormitory of the Yuanlin County Office. In collaboration with the County Police Bureau, the dormitory was transformed into the Police Story House (警察故事館), showcasing precious artifacts spanning from the Japanese colonial period to the 1980s. Notable exhibits include the "List of Traitors" submitted by the Yuanquan Police Station during the February 28 Incident, the self-clearance report from the Dacun Village Chief, and rare 1950s photographs of Xihu Police Station officers conducting inspections at wine houses. The collection also features early police equipment such as hand-cranked sirens, air-raid lights, air-raid gongs, and large-scale evidence recorders.

The Police Story House (警察故事館) officially opened on December 19, 2013. Its mission is to exhibit historical police artifacts from different eras to honor the spirit of sacrifice, dedication, and service. By showcasing these valuable cultural assets, the museum preserves police heritage, highlights professional characteristics, and deepens public understanding and appreciation of police culture, serving as an effective tool for public engagement.

Serving as a repository for police history and a medium for social education, the museum leverages soft power to commemorate the selfless contributions of police officers in safeguarding social security and public welfare. Its existence fosters internal cohesion and service spirit while bridging the past and the future. With the support of the community and the force, the museum continues to uphold the noble mission of the police.
